Weight Loss Affirmations To Get Inspired, Healthy And Fit

Losing weight is a merciless roller-coaster that will throw you off track as soon as motivation starts dwindling. Therefore, I wrote the article below to give you a helping hand. Equipped you with weight loss affirmations, and understanding the process of how to use affirmations to lose weight, you will be much closer to your fitness goals.

Weight Loss Affirmations

When we think about things we want to change or improve about ourselves, losing weight usually ranks high on the list. Whether we want to boost our self-confidence or improve our health, there are many reasons why we want to be thinner. I am sure you’ll all agree that losing weight is pretty hard. What is even harder though is not getting derailed once the pounds start coming off.

The reason why the weight loss journey often leads to a dead-end street is our attitude to everything that weight-loss entails. The first thing that comes to mind when we think about weight-loss is dieting. We all know that you cannot out-exercise a bad diet, so we instantly associate weight loss with hunger, deprivation and sacrifice. We focus on all the things we will have to give up, and all the suffering we will have to endure in the process. With this kind of mindset, it’s no surprise that we usually get defeated before we even start.

In order to lose weight, and keep it off, the ability to stay motivated throughout is key!

If willpower is not your strength, working on creating a positive mindset in order to strengthen your weight-loss motivation might be what you need. Instead of looking at dieting as something that you’re going to do TO yourself, start seeing it as something you’re going to do FOR yourself. Weight-loss can be achieved through positive thinking, but let’s first see how to practice positive thinking by using affirmations to lose weight.

Weight-Loss Affirmations

Afirmations For Weight Loss

Affirmations can be tremendously helpful as a Law of Attraction tool for weight-loss. The Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever is in our thoughts, and one way of doing that is by practicing affirmations.

They are simple positive statements that express our goals and desires, helping us internalize a more positive view of ourselves.

Positive affirmations for weight loss are a powerful tool to keep your motivation in check and to create the positive mindset that is essential for success. To increase their effectiveness, it is recommended that you say them out loud in front of a mirror.

Some people like saying them in the mornings, while others prefer to practice at the end of the day, so it is totally up to you.  In this article we are going to focus on weight loss affirmations, but please read my writing on morning affirmations for a positive and productive day to fully grasp the concept of affirmations and how they work.

Whether you decide to kick-start your day with morning affirmations for weight-loss, or you prefer practicing them in the evenings so you end the day on a positive note, be careful how you word them. Focus on the solution, not the problem.

So, instead of saying “I am not fat”, say “I am thin” or “I am losing weight and getting slimmer”.

I have compiled a short list of weight loss affirmations that you can use, or take a cue from, when creating your own. Let them move you forward and serve as a weight loss motivation.

Affirmations to lose weight

  1. I am getting thinner every day.
  2. I enjoy eating healthy and taking care of my body.
  3. I feel and look great.
  4. I choose to workout.
  5. I am taking responsibility for my health.
  6. I am patient in achieving my ideal shape.
  7. I am creating the body I have always wanted.
  8. I am in love with my fit body.
  9. My weight loss story is successful.
  10. I am letting go of the need to criticize the way I look.

Diet affirmations

  1. I eat small portions and stop when I feel full.
  2. I avoid eating food that is bad for me.
  3. I am only eating foods that are good for my health and wellbeing.
  4. I drink lots of water.
  5. I eat only nutritious food.
  6. I love eating lots of fruits and vegetables.
  7. I crave for healthy foods.
  8. I eat only when I am hungry.
  9. I choose to eat sugar-free foods.
  10. I am committed to creating healthy eating patterns.
  11. I am motivated to eat healthy.

Reading out these or similar affirmations is no promise that you will reach your ideal weight. But that is hardly the point. Being persistent in convincing yourself that you can do it, that you see yourself doing it, is the only way to actually achieve anything.

How To Lose Weight

If you mindset is busy with placing doubts and second guesses, you NEED these positive affirmations to reboot the thinking process.

However, if you are the type of person who sees the glass as half empty, you might need a tad more convincing about the effects of positive psychology. If your personality is more inclined to focus on the negative and you are continually looking for what is wrong in your life, all this talk about positive weight loss mantras may sound like a lot of gibberish.

However, the broader scientific literature suggests that practicing self-affirmation affects the brain on a physical, neurological level. One study, by authors from the University of California and Cornell University, published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, concluded that participants who practiced self-affirmation were less likely to find threatened self-aspects as all-defining of the self. In other words, they were not defined by their perceived shortcomings any more.

Journaling

As you can see, the good news is that it is possible to transform the negative thinking into positive. And if a single article on diet affirmations is just not good enough to make you believe that positive thinking alone will help you lose weight, I do feel compelled to trigger your inspiration in another way. And the reasons I feel compelled to do this is because the only way for the affirmations to work is for you to firmly believe in them.

“Heal Your Body” by Healing Your Mind

Before you start your search for inspiring weight loss stories, I recommend a read that may inspire you to start practicing positive affirmations as a true believer.

The story of Louise Hay is an inspiration in itself, and her book “Heal Your Body” might be what you need at the start of this weight-loss journey. It will put you in the right mind-frame addressing the attitude that you must change first in order to make any other positive changes in your life. It is an easy-to-read guide that offers positive thought patterns to replace negative feelings.  In other words, as a list of health issues, along with healing affirmations – and it all makes perfect sense. Take the word of a woman who defeated cancer with a positive mindset:

When you choose to use affirmations, you are making a conscious decision to heal your life and move forward on the path of positive change…and the time for that positive change is now!”

~ Louise Hay
Positive Affirmations

With that in mind, you can now use the list of weight loss affirmations above to start your positive daily habit. You can practice morning affirmations for weight loss, or repeat these mantras right before you go to bed – the positive change will be noticeable within a week.

You will also find that workouts are suddenly getting easier, healthy meals are getting more delicious, and the resolve to get fit and lean is even stronger. You will start to appreciate the healthy benefits of running daily, or the small incremental improvements in your strength and conditioning.

So here is to a healthy, fit, and active lifestyle!
