Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3 25 mcg (10000 UI) – 100 soft gels Review
I have always been on the low side of vitamin D3, and since I am not a great fan of swallowing a heap of pills, I welcomed the opportunity to try and test Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3.
The breaking point for me to give these supplements a chance was the fact that you only have to take one pill per day. With its 25 mcg (10000 IU), which is very hard to find in health stores and pharmacies near where I live, one pill is enough to meet the daily recommended dose.
Most of the Vitamin D3 supplements have 5000 IU or 2000 per pill, so Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3 worked well for my aversion of swallowing a handful of pills on a daily basis. But’s let focus on the actual review and my final verdict, shall we?
Easy to swallow
The pills are small and gel-like, which makes them easy to swallow. I was actually quite surprised how small they were, considering the amount of IU, which honestly was a huge relief. If you are taking supplementation, and have the same aversion as I do for swallowing large capsules, this one is definitely a supplement you’ll love.
Not suitable for vegetarians
On the down side, although the package of the Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3 states that the product is free from flavor or sweeteners, preservatives, sugar, starch, milk, lactose, wheat, yeast, fish and sodium, it does contain gelatin, which would make Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3 unsuitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Large bottle, without a moisture pack inside
The bottle of the Puritan’s Pride Vitamin D3 is very attractive, and it looks exactly as advertised, but it is a tad too big. As it contains only 100 capsules, its more than half empty. It comes with a safety seal, but there is not moisture pack or cotton inside to keep the capsules fresh. If you can, I’d recommend putting a small patch inside.
No taste and no odor
The capsules are odor free and they don’t leave an after taste. However, you might need to shake the bottle before using the capsules in order to separate them, as they tend to stick together. Though this, as I’ve learned later, depends heavily on temperature.
Very affordable
The price is great for just one pill per day, as it gets you covered for well above three months. I’ve been taking 1 pill with my main meal for 3 months and the lab results will show whether they worked. However, it’s a great supplement for my exercise routine and it makes me sleep better and have more energy.
If you consider the quality, the dosage, and the supply, the price is surprisingly affordable, and definitely much more attractive than other options on the market.

The capsules have neither taste nor odor, they are small and easy to swallow, and provide all the amount of vitamin D that you’ll ever need on daily basis.
