Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage with Optional Lat Pull-down Attachment Review
If you want to sculpt your upper body muscles and going to the gym has become a drag, the Fitness Reality Max Power Cage with a lat pull-down attachment is the only piece of equipment that your home gym needs. This is serious muscle building piece of equipment that will easily meet the needs of even the most seasoned weight-lifting enthusiasts. I’ve tested the Fitness Reality and wrote a short review about the built and the features, before giving my final verdict.
Design and features
The Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage is designed as a heavy-duty 2 by 2 inches steel frame construction with weight capacity of up to 800lbs. It is designed with spacious walk-in space for easy side-to-side movement, maneuvering and comfortable bench placement.
It comes with two chrome lock-on safety bars measuring 3 ¼ inches in length and two chrome dual mounted safety bars measuring 23 inches, which can be adjusted at 19 different height levels. This is rather handy when you are doing the bench press, especially when two or three people have to use the power rack, as is the case of small commercial gyms.
It also contains 2 rear stability bars. The over-head pull-up grip bars offer a variety of positions for arm, shoulder and back toning, and they feel quite sturdy on the grip.
The Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage also includes high resistant lat bar and a low row bar attachments with a nylon coated cable, ensuring durability. The chrome guide rail insures smooth and safe movement along the vertical.
For additional comfort and safety during exercises, the leg hold-down can be moved along the safety bar. The height of the safety bars can be adjusted to different heights along the cage frame, which is another added bonus. Two adjustable foam rollers are provided for extra comfort.
Stability and safety
The Fitness Reality Max Power Cage is extremely solid and stable and safely supports any weight within the recommended range. Once assembled (tools included), it is ridged even when not bolted to the floor.
The pull-up bar is strong enough for stable pull-ups, additionally offering sufficient and comfortable distance from the floor. The entire construction weights 148 pounds and is heavy enough not to move or wobble during exercising, which contributes to the feeling of stability and security, even when you try more explosive exercise like for example muscle ups.
Optional equipment (not included)
The Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage can be used with additional equipment for a complete gym-like experience. You can add dip bars, J-hooks, lat-pull down attachment and other machine attachments, for creating a perfect piece of equipment that won’t leave any muscle untouched.
The construction’s walk in space is large enough to accommodate a weight bench, so you can easily turn this power rack into a bench press training station as well, also being able to tackle your shoulders with the shoulder press. The lat pull-down post can be used with standard weight plates, and the cage is compatible with 7 inch Olympic bars.
If you are in the market for a stable, durable, and versatile power rack, there is hardly a better option to consider. Given the price, this piece of equipment is quite affordable, especially when you bring to mind the fact that it will almost replace an entire gym worth of equipment. With its attention to detail, and quality design, you can easily tell that it’s targeted towards more serious gym goers, and not your average beginner in weight lifting. I highly recommend it!
