I always reply magnesium chips and waterproof matches, are the fastest way. Magnesium burns so hot it will cause damp kindling to burn, the matches will burn no matter how hard the wind is blowing, they even burn under water. I put this kit together a number of years ago for my friends, soon I was making them for their friends. This method of starting a fire under wet and windy condition is fool proof. First gather some kindling, make sure to use small pieces. Take some of the magnesium chips out of the bag, a 2in wide circle about 2in high will do. Put your kindling on top of the pile of magnesium. Now light the waterproof match and put it into the center of your pile of magnesium, as the kindling burns add wood to your fire. Kit fits into your pocket weight is 2.5 oz. The tin is 3 5/16in x 2 9/16in x 15/16in. Matches are 2in long. Bag of magnesium is 3in x 4in. Everything fits into tin. Thank you for looking.
