Tyrannosaurus Rex (meaning “Tyrant lizard king”) was a huge, fierce, meat-eating dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period, about 85 to 65 million years ago. This theropod dinosaur probably lived in forests, where its prey (large, plant-eating dinosaurs) could find plenty of food. Tyrannosaurus Rex was named by paleontologist Henry Fairfield Osborn in 1905. There is a jug on his head and an incut rail along his spine and tail.
