For the budget racer or the performance skate touring skier, the Rottefella Performance Skate binding offers the design and control of the Rottefella Accelerator bindings with the price of a touring binding. The Performance Skate binding uses the same Accelerator flexors for adaptability and includes the same low profile design and NIS functionality of the Accelerator. If you’re just getting into skate skiing this is the perfect binding for you, only a bit heavier than it’s top end brother, the Performance Skate will perform so well only the most discerning skier will know the difference. Also, for the touring skier looking for a tighter boot to ski attachment with increased ski control, the Performance Skate’s manual connection is simple and precise. With the included NIS tool the binding can be easily moved fore and aft on the ski to match ski flex, conditions, and terrain. Moving the binding forward generally will increase grip and control while moving it backward will increase glide and speed. This NIS (Nordic Integrated System) binding slides onto NIS plates mounted on many skis. Should your skis not have an NIS plate, one can be screwed to the ski for binding mounting. This is a manual operated binding, not a step-in style for touring and it offers the tightest boot to ski connection available and therefore the most exacting control needed for skiing performance.
