The Marker Tour F12 EPF bindings offer one of the best strength-to-weight ratios of any freetouring binding on the market. They’re seriously strong bindings which give you phenomenal performance and rapid response on descents but, thanks to their gas-injected hollow frame, weigh less than many of the best-known alternatives from other brands, meaning they won’t hinder your ascent speed when accessing those hard to reach spots. Sensible performance Compared to its counterparts, the Duke and Baron, the Tour F12 EPF is better suited to those of us who aren’t interested in bragging rights (think hucking cliffs and charging super tight couloirs) but who instead favour a sensible and methodical approach to free-touring. Don’t let that mislead you though, the Marker F12 are solid, confidence inspiring bindings that can be skied hard across the entire mountain. What’s more, thanks to Sole.ID technology, the gliding AFD toe plate height can be adjusted to fit standard alpine or all-terrain toe pieces, making them accessible to all boot users. Like regular power but, well…extended… By utilising Marker’s Extended Power Frame design, the F12 has a footprint 46mm wider than non-EPF freetour bindings. This wider platform means it takes less leverage to transfer power from ski boot to ski edge, resulting in lowered response time and reduced effort. This also makes them particularly well-suited to wider waisted skis, which is handy given everyone and their dog is skinning on 89mm+ these days. Fully adjustable for steeper terrrain The titanium hiking aid allows for flat, 7-degrees or 13-degrees of heel elevation to ease the burden on your legs in steeper terrain, and can be easily adjusted with your poles. When in touring mode the binding sits 40mm back from its ‘ski’ position for a more evenly balanced ski and easier kick-turns.
