Foam Cushions are a necessary addition to any fully equipped studio or training facility. Each is designed to serve a variety of purposes and all aid in increasing exercise options, allowing for proper alignment and biomechanics. Perfect for Pilates exercises, these props can also be incorporated in fusion or athletic conditioning workouts. Designed for extra comfort and support when performing a wide variety of exercises, Foam Cushions are made of high-density, closed-cell polyethylene foam. They are available in three sizes allowing you to choose which one is right for each individual. Foam Cushion “A” is often used for head support in a supine position (lying on the back) and may help to create better alignment of the head and neck, preventing the cervical spine from overextending. Foam Cushion “B” can be used between the knees and ⁄ or ankles to help maintain activation of the hip adductors, assisting in a full-body connection and ensuring proper alignment of the legs and hips. It is also ideal for use on the Reformer to support the head in side-lying positions. Foam Cushion C is perfect for seated exercises. Individuals with tightness through the lower back, hips and knees can achieve an optimal sitting position with this foam cushion. By elevating the body, you can reduce unwanted tension and redirect the focus to the working muscles. This cushion can be used for Mat work, or on the STOTT PILATES Reformer, STOTT PILATES Stability Chair, STOTT PILATES Cadillac or anywhere a little extra height is required.
