The university administrator and religious figure submitted an article for publication and requested his fee. Bishop William Fraser McDowell (1858-1937) was first elected a Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1904. This appointment came just a few years after his tenure as Chancellor of the University of Denver ended (1890-1899).
