Simple Productivity Improvement Technique

Productivity improvement technique

Have you ever wanted to do something, but you never even started, or maybe started but went half the way? Have you ever caught yourself knowing what to do, but never done it for real? Or have you ever felt that you have the motivation but lacked the willpower to take action in order to do something?

Because I know I have. And chances are, you too.

I can go writing and writing as for why this is so, and most of you will agree, but because you are here for the productivity improvement technique, I’ll say no more, but cut to the case.

You must first know how easy and simple what you are about to do is. It takes about three minutes for most of the people. I say most of the people because the truth is it takes even less for some. However, the only two things you need to do are so simple that after reading this you will be amazed that it was there all the time. It’s not like most productivity improvement techniques out there, this is a really simple one and takes the least time needed.

So here we go.

1. First of all, you must decide what do you want to do in the first place.
In order for you to master this productivity improvement technique, you should start with smaller things. Let’s say organizing your desk. Don’t bother with why is that important to you, but instead just settle that that’s what you want at the moment. It’s similar process with the bigger scale stuff too, but later about that.

So now that you know what you want, the first step is done. Pretty easy, right ?

2.The second step, and this is the one that makes it all happen.
Now you know that you want to tidy up and organize your desk. That’s what you did with the first step. You set your goal. Now what is the second step?

It is visualization.

Once you set your mind to achieving something, you now try to visualize it.

For example let’s focus on the task at hand, organizing your desk. Take minute or two from your time to visualize your desk organized, just the way you like it.

3. Now after you are done, focus on how you feel about that picture.
What this achieves is giving you hint of how good you will feel after the job is done. This will give you the urge and the focus you’ve never had before. Once you visualize it, and you like it that way, you will be more than eager to really do it.

So, the summary of this simple productivity improvement technique:

  1. Know your goal (start with smaller ones).
  2. Visualize the task completed.
  3. Experience how you feel about the results.

It works like a charm.

But it’s not like you are going to visualize a massive goal and tackle it right out of the gate. It doesn’t work like that. You cannot sit down and visualize that you will burn stomach fat and have a six pack. You have to start with small and mundane steps, and practice the skill until you are ready and comfortable to tackle something more complex.

Now the reason why you should start with smaller goals is simple. You must first practice this technique in order to master it. And like any practice you start with small things, stuff like: organizing your work place, cleaning the house, keeping up to you daily schedule, and only then, when you feel like you’re getting better with it, go on bigger things, things of more complex nature.

But even then, it is advisable to do things one step at a time.

There you have it. Maybe you heard something similar to this before, but this is most definitely the best way to do it. It takes you very little time, and the results are great. I can go on and on about this and elaborate it from many perspectives, but it is the simplicity of this productivity improvement technique that makes it so great.

Try it and let me know what you think.

Till then, enjoy being awesome.
