If you are looking for a full body workout that activates almost every muscle group in your body, then you should definitely consider the MaxiClimber. This piece of equipment will provide a total body workout and plenty of opportunity to work on your muscle strength and cardio at the same time. It is durable, lightweight, and comes 90% assembled. You’ll enjoy the ergonomic design, the screen reader, and the smooth movement that provides just the right level of resistance. I reviewed the MaxiClimber classic but have in mind that the improvements upon the model introduce a relatively small number of new features, although they are sleeker when it comes to design.

MaxiClimber vertical climber Review

When it comes to trying new fitness equipment, I am instantly on board with any idea. And with this one, I was literally on it in the blink of an eye. I’ve never got around testing my metal in climbing, and this was my chance to get a taste of such a complex movement. I have to say that I did not expect to get such a total-body burn. The MaxiClimber exceeded my expectations and gave me one of the most intense workouts I have experienced on a single piece of equipment.

I used a machine rower in the past, and was convinced that it is the best exercise equipment when it comes to generating a full body workout, but this is a bird of another feather. So here is my short MaxiClimber review.

Versatile and easy to use

The MaxiClimber vertical climber is very easy to use regardless of your fitness level. It utilizes only your body weight, but combines elements of cardio and muscle toning for an intense total-body workout. One of its main advantages is that it provides a low impact bodyweight workout which causes no stress to the joints (especially the sensitive knees and ankles). I can easily argue that this is a piece of equipment that will get you instantly on track after your knee or ankle injury.

Basically, it does the job of several pieces of gym equipment combined in one in terms of muscle activation and different elements of fitness (cardio, resistance training, complex muscle group activation).

Key features of the MaxiClimber vertical climber

The MaxiClimber vertical climber is quite lightweight at around 35lbs and it comes 90% assembled, so it’s very easy to set up without any tools or additional parts. Its compact design allows it to be used anywhere in your home without taking too much space, and because it is quite light you can easily move it from one room to another. Once you are done exercising, you can just fold it and store it in any corner or under the bed.

It’s adjustable for different heights, which makes a world of difference, and features a timer display that starts and stops when you do. The hand grips are covered in non-stick material, and despite its light weight, it feels quite sturdy and stable. It’s made of cold-rolled steel and has a stated weight-bearing capacity of 240lbs, so it promises good durability as long as it’s not overloaded.

The design is quite durable, and I tried my best to exercise force and sudden bursts of movement in order to test its sturdiness and capacity to withstand jerky moves, but the MaxiClimber showed no signs of weaknesses whatsoever.

Room for improvement

The MaxiClimber vertical climber doesn’t offer different levels of tension and resistance, which might come as a disappointment for those of you who want to gradually intensify their workouts. Another disadvantage is that the timer display is positioned too low on the frame, so it is very difficult to follow its readings while you are exercising.

But if you are not an obsessive person who must have his eyes on the reader at all times, and can easily measure his results in terms of minutes worked instead of resistance levels raised, then the MaxiClimber is one of the best pieces of equipment you’ll ever lay your hands on.

The MaxiClimber vertical climber Classic model is way outdated in terms of looks, so if you need to have a product that reflects the fact that we are living in the second decade of the 21st century, definitely go for the MaxiClimber XL-800 or the MaxiClimber XL-1000.

Conclusion

The Maxi Climber is one of the most lightweight yet sturdy pieces of equipment that was designed to last for years on end without any problem whatsoever. Its ergonomic design will have you working on your muscle strength and cardio all at once, and you’ll love the total body workout. The movements feel smooth once you get the hang of it, and the durability of this product, along with the features make MaxiClimber one of the best pieces of equipment to own for your home gym. Considering the price, this model is definitely a top contender in its category.
